Dr. Bailes went to Louisiana State University (LSU) Medical School and completed his neurosurgery residency at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, followed by a fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI). Dr. Bailes is a well-known voice in the matter of sport-related brain injuries and conducts research into factors and interventions that can prevent or minimize brain damage during sports.
